We design customized estate plans to attain our clients’ personal and financial goals while optimizing the tax-efficient transfer of property interests.  Our estate planning services include drafting documents such as wills, beneficiary designations, revocable trusts, generation-skipping trusts, charitable trusts, minors trusts, life insurance trusts, personal residence trusts, special needs trusts, powers of attorney and health care directives.  We draft other documents related to our clients’ estate plans and property interests such as agreements regarding the ownership of premarital and marital property and the disposition of business interests.  We provide business formation and succession planning advice and documentation including the formation and management of limited liability companies.

Trust and Estate Administration

We represent, advise and assist trustees on trust administrations.  We represent, advise and assist executors and administrators on probate proceedings to administer decedents’ estates, including the preparation and filing of court documents, the marshalling and distribution of property interests, the preparation, submission and settlement of accountings and the filing of appropriate income, estate and gift tax returns.  We also represent and advise trust and estate beneficiaries regarding their rights and entitlements.

We advise and assist clients on the opportunities to implement the many charitable gift planning methods available to achieve philanthropic goals while optimizing income, gift and estate tax benefits.  We represent charitable organizations and advise and assist directors on the management of private foundations, maintaining books and records, grant making and compliance with federal and state laws on filing annual reports and related tax laws.  We advise our clients on involving younger generation family members in charitable giving decisions and opportunities and succession planning, on the formation and administration of private foundations and on planning for lifetime and testamentary gifts to charities and donor advised funds.
